“Rough waters are truer
tests of leadership. In calm water every ship has a good captain.” —Swedish
proverb
I recently had an interesting experience. I was the captain of two ships. One maneuvered in calm waters. It needed gentle nudges to keep it moving
forward.
The other ship was faster, larger, more hectic, more out of
control. The potential was greater but
so were the troubled waters.
When given a choice as to which I wanted to captain in the
future, I chose the second. To me it was
obvious that I would grow more and truly test myself. I will be stretched.
Today’s question is:
“Do you chose the difficult
route by default?”
