" Hapifork, an electronic fork that vibrates and lights up when you're eating too fast connects via USB to your computer our via wireless to your smart phone to track your eating habits"- Entrepreneur magazine 6/13

I have a problem when I eat. The speed with which I consume my meals is too fast.  Often times my stomach has no chance to recognize that I am full until it is too late.

This invention is brilliant.  It brings you into the now so that you can note your eating speed and provides a record of it.  You can then study yourself and learn how to eat better.  What the idea also made me think was how we are starting to use more tools to help us to do better.

Why is it that I need a vibrating fork?  Because I am not aware at those moments.  That should be my focus.  The tool could over time make me realize that I am eating too fast and too much but it can not make me aware.  In a sense over time I should use the fork reminders less and less.

Today's question is:
"What tool could you use to make you more aware of your habits?  "
