Oversharer- The True Confessor
"Forgive
me father, for I have sinned."- Typical start of a confession in Catholic
Church
In the article in WSJ Office Oversharers: Don’t tell Us
about last Night June 25, 2014 article by Sue Shellenbarger the sixth type she
defines is The True Confessor.
"Definition: The
True Confessor- Tends to blurt out the first embarrassing personal experience
that springs to mind.”
Probably the most dangerous oversharer type. It not only overshares but places one in a
position that now the person has shared damaging information to the point of no
return. That genie is not going back in
the bottle.
The problem with this type is that you might not have enough
time to be able to stop the person before they blast out the information. And once it is out, there is no way to erase
it. So you just have to peg a person as
a “True Confessor” and anticipate that at any time they might start the
confession.
Today's question is:
"Do you over-confess?"
